Wiki - Map

Overview

General

The Map of Elytria has a total size of 8000x8000 blocks or 250.000 total chunks. To keep performance relatively stable, settings such as render distance and simulation distance are kept as low as possible. To compensate for this, we recommend the use of the clientside mod "Distant Horizons" which allows the Minecraft client to cache and permanently display previously loaded chunks, allowing you to see far beyond the server limitations.

Claims

Claims allow every player to protect their buildings, resources, and land by claiming chunks. Claims prevent other players from breaking, placing, opening containers, or interacting with anything inside your claimed area unless you explicitly allow them.

A claim does not equal a chunk, instead it's a piece of land that you can add and remove chunks from. A player may only have 2 seperate claims, however one claim can inherit multiple chunks connected to each other.
